Specialist Account Terms & Conditions
Last updated: February 27, 2026Version: 1.0
Summary
These terms govern specialist (portable professional) accounts on Bubba. They cover your professional identity, work modes (independent or linked to businesses), review portability, bookings, data privacy, and account management. Your specialist profile, reviews, and history stay with you regardless of which business you work with.
These Specialist Account Terms & Conditions ("Specialist Terms") govern the relationship between you, a pet service specialist ("Specialist", "you"), and MB Bubba ("Bubba", "we", "us") when you create and use a specialist account on the Bubba platform.
These Specialist Terms supplement the general Pet Owner Terms & Conditions (if you also use the client app) and should be read alongside the Business Terms & Conditions (if you link to a business) and the Privacy Policy.
- What Is a Specialist Account?
1.1 Definition
A specialist account is a portable professional identity on the Bubba platform. It represents you as an individual service provider (groomer, veterinarian, dog walker, trainer, or other pet care professional) independently of any particular business.
1.2 Key Features
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Portable identity | Your specialist profile, qualifications, and professional history exist independently of any business. If you leave a business, your profile and history move with you. |
| Review portability | Verified reviews and ratings earned for your services are linked to your specialist profile, not to the business. When you move between businesses, your review history follows you. |
| Multi-business linking | You can link your specialist account to one or more businesses simultaneously, working across multiple locations and partners. |
| Independent work | You can operate as an independent practitioner without being linked to any business, receiving bookings directly. |
| Flexible work modes | Choose between working as an employee of a business, an independent contractor, or a fully independent practitioner. |
1.3 Relationship to Other Account Types
| Account Type | Description | Governed By |
|---|---|---|
| User account | Base account for all platform users (pet owners and professionals). Required to create a specialist account. | Pet Owner Terms & Conditions |
| Business (Partner) account | Account for pet service businesses. A user can be linked to a business as an owner or manager. | Business Terms & Conditions |
| Specialist account | Portable professional identity (this document). Can work independently or link to businesses. | These Specialist Terms |
You must have a user account to create a specialist account. A single user can hold both a specialist account and be an owner/manager of a business account.
- Eligibility & Account Creation
2.1 Eligibility
To create a specialist account, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (higher than the general platform minimum of 16, reflecting professional service delivery responsibilities).
- Hold a valid user account on the Bubba platform.
- Provide accurate professional information (see §2.2).
- Comply with applicable national laws and regulations for providing the services you offer (e.g., veterinary licensing, business registration for independent practitioners).
2.2 Required Information
When creating a specialist account, you must provide:
- Professional name — The name under which you provide services (may be your legal name or a professional trading name).
- Specializations — The types of pet services you provide (e.g., grooming, veterinary, training, walking).
- Qualifications and certifications (if applicable) — Relevant professional qualifications, licenses, or certifications. We may request verification documentation.
- Work mode preference — Whether you intend to work independently, as an employee, or as an independent contractor linked to businesses.
- Contact information — Professional contact details.
2.3 Verification
Bubba may verify the information you provide, including professional qualifications and business registration. You must:
- Respond to verification requests within 14 days.
- Provide truthful and accurate information.
- Promptly update your information if it changes.
Providing false or misleading information is grounds for account suspension or termination (see §8).
- Work Modes
3.1 Independent Practitioner
As an independent practitioner, you:
- Operate your own pet service activity directly through the Bubba platform.
- Receive bookings directly from pet owners.
- Set your own services, prices, schedule, and availability.
- Are responsible for your own tax obligations, business registration, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Receive payouts directly through Adyen after platform commission.
- Are considered a data controller for the personal data you process in the course of service delivery. Bubba acts as your processor for this data (see the Data Processing Agreement).
3.2 Linked to a Business (Employee)
When working as an employee linked to a business:
- The business manages your schedule, services, and bookings through the Console app.
- Your specialist profile is displayed as part of the business's team.
- Payment and commission arrangements are between you and the business — Bubba pays the business, not you directly.
- The business is the data controller for service delivery data; Bubba processes data on behalf of the business.
- You remain responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your specialist profile.
- The business assigns your work mode as "employee" in the platform.
3.3 Linked to a Business (Independent Contractor)
When working as an independent contractor linked to a business:
- Similar to the employee mode, but the platform recognizes you as an independent professional.
- Payout arrangements may differ based on agreement between you and the business.
- You retain greater autonomy over your professional profile and may also operate independently or link to other businesses simultaneously (subject to any separate agreements between you and the business).
- Tax obligations and business registration are your responsibility, separate from the business.
3.4 Changing Work Modes
You can change your work mode at any time through the Console app, subject to:
- Completing any outstanding bookings under your current arrangement.
- Providing reasonable notice to any linked business (if applicable).
- Compliance with any separate employment or contractor agreements between you and the business (Bubba is not a party to and has no responsibility for such agreements).
- Business Linking
4.1 Linking Process
You can link your specialist account to a business in two ways:
- Business invitation — A business owner or manager invites you by entering your email address. You receive an invitation (by email and/or in-app notification) which you may accept or decline.
- Specialist request — You request to join a business. The business owner or manager may accept or decline your request.
4.2 Multiple Business Links
You may be linked to multiple businesses simultaneously, subject to:
- Each business's acceptance of multi-business linking (some businesses may require exclusivity as part of their separate employment/contractor agreements with you).
- No conflicts in scheduling — you cannot be booked for overlapping time slots at different businesses.
- Transparency — businesses you are linked to can see that you are also linked to other businesses (the names of other businesses are not disclosed, only the fact that other links exist).
4.3 Unlinking
Either you or the business can terminate the link at any time:
- You unlink: Your specialist profile is removed from the business's team listing. Outstanding bookings are handled per the business's cancellation policy.
- Business unlinks you: You are removed from their team. You receive notification with a statement of reasons per P2B Regulation principles.
- Data: Your specialist profile, reviews, and service history remain on your specialist account and are not affected by unlinking. The business retains access to historical booking data for the period you were linked (for their own record-keeping).
4.4 Business Closure
If a business you are linked to is permanently closed:
- Your specialist account is automatically unlinked.
- Your reviews, ratings, and service history remain with your specialist account.
- You are notified in advance when possible.
- Reviews & Ratings Portability
5.1 How Reviews Work for Specialists
- When a pet owner leaves a review for a service, the review is linked to both the business location where the service was delivered and the specialist who performed the service.
- Your specialist profile displays an aggregate rating based on all reviews linked to you, across all businesses you have worked with.
- Business profiles display aggregate ratings based on all reviews for services delivered at that business, regardless of which specialist performed them.
5.2 Portability
- When you leave a business, the reviews you earned while at that business remain visible on your specialist profile. They also remain on the business's profile (as they represent services delivered at that business).
- Neither you nor the business can delete or modify the other party's copy of a review. Reviews are owned by the pet owner who wrote them.
- The Reviews & Ratings Policy governs review content, moderation, and dispute processes.
5.3 Rating Calculation
Your specialist rating is calculated as:
- Arithmetic mean of all verified review ratings linked to your specialist account, across all businesses.
- Each review has equal weight regardless of which business it was earned at.
- This rating is displayed on your specialist profile and factored into search ranking when you are an independent practitioner.
For details on the rating methodology, see the Reviews & Ratings Policy.
- Booking & Service Delivery
6.1 Independent Bookings
When working as an independent practitioner:
- You manage your own services, pricing, availability, and booking policies through the Console app.
- The booking process, cancellation rights, and refund policies described in the Pet Owner Terms & Conditions and Refund & Cancellation Policy apply.
- You are responsible for delivering services as described in your listings.
- The service contract is between you and the pet owner. Bubba acts as an intermediary.
6.2 Business-Managed Bookings
When linked to a business:
- Bookings are made through the business's listing and managed by the business.
- The business's terms, policies, and pricing apply.
- You deliver the service as assigned by the business.
- The service contract is between the pet owner and the business. Bubba acts as an intermediary.
6.3 Service Quality
Regardless of work mode, you are expected to:
- Deliver services with professional care and skill.
- Maintain any required professional qualifications and licenses.
- Comply with applicable health, safety, and animal welfare regulations.
- Respond to booking communications in a timely manner.
- Data & Privacy
7.1 Your Personal Data
Your specialist account data (profile, qualifications, work history, reviews) is processed by Bubba as described in the Privacy Policy. Specifically:
- Profile data is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).
- Publicly visible data (name, specializations, ratings, reviews) is processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest — marketplace trust and transparency).
7.2 Pet Owner Data
When you deliver services, you may access pet owner personal data (name, contact details, pet information) necessary for service delivery:
- As an independent practitioner: You are the data controller for this data. The Data Processing Agreement governs Bubba's processing on your behalf.
- As an employee/contractor linked to a business: The business is the data controller. You process data under the business's authority and data protection obligations.
You must:
- Process pet owner data only for the purposes of service delivery.
- Not use pet owner data for marketing or purposes unrelated to the booked service, unless you have the pet owner's separate consent.
- Comply with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.
- Report any data breaches to Bubba immediately (and to the linked business, if applicable).
7.3 Data Portability
You can export your specialist account data (profile, service history, reviews, booking records) in a machine-readable format (JSON) through the Console app settings. This supports your GDPR right to data portability (Art. 20) and allows you to retain your professional records independently.
- Account Suspension & Termination
8.1 Grounds for Restriction or Suspension
Bubba may restrict or suspend your specialist account if:
- You violate these Specialist Terms, the Pet Owner Terms & Conditions, or the Business Terms & Conditions.
- You provide false or misleading professional information.
- You receive consistent poor reviews indicating a pattern of inadequate service quality.
- You engage in fraud, abuse, harassment, or illegal activity.
- Required by law, a court order, or a supervisory authority.
8.2 Process
Before restriction or suspension:
- We will provide you with a statement of reasons explaining the grounds, except where legally prohibited or in emergency situations (safety/fraud).
- You have the right to respond to the statement of reasons within 14 days.
- We will consider your response before making a final decision.
8.3 Termination
Bubba may terminate your specialist account with 30 days' advance notice and a statement of reasons. In cases of:
- Serious or repeated violations of these Terms.
- Legal requirements.
- Safety emergencies.
...termination may be effective immediately with the statement of reasons provided at the time of termination.
8.4 Consequences of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your specialist profile is deactivated and removed from search results.
- Links to businesses are dissolved.
- Your review history is retained in anonymized form (your name is replaced but review content remains for marketplace integrity).
- You can export your data before termination through the Console app.
- Outstanding payouts (for independent practitioners) are processed within the standard payout cycle.
8.5 Your Right to Terminate
You may terminate your specialist account at any time through the Console app settings or by contacting legal@bubba.pet. You should:
- Complete or cancel any outstanding bookings.
- Notify linked businesses.
- Export any data you wish to retain.
- Commission & Payments
9.1 Independent Practitioners
If you work as an independent practitioner:
- The platform commission structure and fees apply to you.
- Payouts are made to your registered bank account via Adyen on the schedule you choose (weekly or monthly).
- You are responsible for KYC/KYB onboarding through Adyen (identity verification, bank account verification).
- Tax obligations (income tax, VAT if applicable) are your responsibility.
9.2 Linked Specialists
If you work as an employee or independent contractor linked to a business:
- Bubba pays the business, not you directly (unless your agreement with the business specifies otherwise and the business configures split payouts on the platform).
- Commission is charged to the business per the Business Terms & Conditions.
- Payment arrangements between you and the business are governed by your separate agreement with the business. Bubba is not a party to or responsible for these arrangements.
- Intellectual Property
10.1 Your Profile Content
You retain ownership of the content you create for your specialist profile (descriptions, qualifications, photos). By creating a specialist account, you grant Bubba a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute this content on the platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
10.2 Reviews
Reviews written by pet owners are owned by the pet owner. Both you and any business you were linked to at the time of the review have a non-exclusive right to display the review, as described in §5.
- Dispute Resolution
11.1 Internal Complaints
You can raise complaints about platform decisions (suspension, restriction, unlinking) through the internal complaint mechanism:
- Contact legal@bubba.pet with a description of your complaint.
- We will acknowledge receipt within 5 business days.
- We will provide a substantive response within 30 days.
11.2 Mediation
If your complaint cannot be resolved internally, you may use the mediation service:
Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration (VCCA) Website: www.arbitrazas.lt
Bubba commits to engaging in good faith in any mediation proceedings.
11.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution
You can also submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
11.4 Right to Court Proceedings
Nothing in these Specialist Terms restricts your right to bring proceedings before the competent courts.
- Governing Law
These Specialist Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Lithuania.
- Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Specialist Terms from time to time:
- Material changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance via email and/or in-app notification, in accordance with P2B Regulation Art. 3(2).
- You have the right to terminate your specialist account before the changes take effect if you disagree.
- Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
- Severability
If any provision of these Specialist Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
